Now we are in Port Antonio, where we have been staying for a couple of days. This is a place two hours and another bumpy bus ride away from Ocho Rios, and as soon as I got here I loved it. Port Antonio is amazing! Now I know that I’m on an island by the Caribbean Sea, it is extremely beautiful here in Portland. We are staying at a lovely guesthouse and hosted by a kind and friendly, originally Finnish lady, A. Our house is on a hill and the view is stunning. With absolutely perfect sunny weather, we have enjoyed different beaches, swimming and other water sports. And this time, no hotels or cruise ships to be seen.
Seriously, look at these pictures!
First, the view from our house:
Bikini Beach, a small beach in the center of Port Antonio and close to our house.
My favorite beach: Boston Bay. The place is also known for the Jerk chicken (chicken with jerk spice) that is said to be the best on the island, and proven to be the best I have ever had.
Winifred Beach is smaller and quiet and very enjoyable as well, even if J was sad because they had removed all the swings she liked.
With my friend M we made a trip to a place called Blue Lagoon. Crystal clear water and a boat ride to Monkey island, that was a very relaxing morning.
One beautiful sunset at the Frenchmens’ Cove beach.
